In order to achieve the level of reliability that our customers demand and deserve, our newly-established Infrastructure Maintenance function that employs 15,000 across 40 delivery units, will play a major role in delivering our vision of engineering and operating excellence for Britain’s railway. Our in-house maintenance organisation works as one single team maintaining signalling, track, and electrification using standardised, efficient processes that are committed to the achievement of our corporate goals.




About the role (External)



The purpose of the role is to organise, direct and motivate the Works Delivery Signalling team to undertake associated duties in a safe and efficient manner, making sure they are completed in accordance with relevant standards and procedures. You’ll undertake and direct the inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewals of assets, accurately reporting all works completed/ not completed and produce/ maintain records with detailed information when required. As the team leader, you’ll check that all staff under your control have got the relevant training and competencies to carry out their role as well as making sure they are adhering to safety procedures. You’ll also carry out checks on vehicles, plant, materials and equipment under your control, making sure they are fit for use and that that they are stored and disposed of correctly.

* Knowledge and experience of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal techniques?
* Knowledge of relevant standards and procedures?
* Good communication and organisational skills?
* Experience of promoting and implementing safe systems of work?
* A full driving licence?
* Experience of SMTH and IRSE
